Jiří Outrata received the Award of the Czech Academy of Sciences for outstanding results in science, experimental research and innovations based on his achieved results in mathematical analysis of the so-called non-smooth and multivalued mappings. These results contribute to further advances of scientific field of mathematics as well as numerous applications in economics and industry.

Doc. Ing. Jiří Outrata, DrSc. has been awarded a University of Ballarat Adjunct Professorship, School of Science, Information Technology and Engineering, Australia.

Akademická rada Akademie věd ČR, na základě návrhu poroty pro udělování Prémií Otto Wichterleho mladým vědeckým pracovníkům v AV ČR, udělila Prémii Otto Wichterleho v roce 2009

Ing. Tomáši Kroupovi, Ph.D.

z Ústavu teorie informace a automatizace.

Ing. Tomáš Kroupa, Ph.D.

z Ústavu teorie informace a automatizace.

Cena je určena pro talentované studenty v bakalářském, magisterském nebo doktorském studiu, kteří prokázali výjimečné schopnosti a tvůrčí myšlení ve svém oboru, do 33 let jejich věku.

A series of Workshops on Uncertainty Processing (WUPES) has been held in the Czech Republic every third year since 1988. Proceedings from several previous workshops can be found on their websites (WUPES'22, WUPES'18, WUPES'15, WUPES'12, WUPES'09, and WUPES'06).

The Winter School of the Department of Decision-Making Theory is a well-established gathering of students and researchers from the department, collaborating researchers from several Czech institutions, and international guests. This year, it is organized by Tomáš Roubal, M. Studený, and J. Outrata. The scientific program reflects the research interests of the MTR UTIA department and our invited guests.

The Winter School of the Department of Decision-Making Theory is a popular meeting of students and researchers from the department and collaborating researchers from several Czech institutions as well as guests from abroad. This year, it is organized by  M. Studený, J.Vomlel, and J.Outrata. The scientific program covers the research interests of the department MTR UTIA and of our invited guests.

VŘSR is a traditional workshop sequentially organized by colleagues from UTIA, IRAFM Ostrava University, and UI. The meeting is focused mainly on the presentation of fresh (inter) results of participating doctoral students and their subsequent discussion in a wider plenary of experienced science matadors. Contributions traditionally come from different areas of uncertainty processing.

The Sixteenth European Conference on Symbolic and Quantitative Approaches to Reasoning with Uncertainty (ECSQARU 2021) will be organized by our institute on September 21-24, 2021.

The department of Decision-Making Theory organizes a Mini-Symposium dedicated to three exceptional speakers: Silvia Carpitella, Tobias Boege, and Michael Mandlmayr. The Mini-Symposium is organized in a hybrid form. It is possible to participate either in person or connect virtually using the Zoom application.

Online workshop, 22-23 March 2021

The Nonlinear Meeting 2021 is the 6th of a series of annual workshops focusing on nonlinear analysis and differential problems. This edition's common thread will cover theoretical topics on reaction-diffusion equations and dynamical systems with possible applications to biology or physics.

For registration, schedule and additional information please visit the webpage of the event.

Online workshop - 11th December 2020, 15.00-19.30 CET

This online workshop focuses on unraveling locomotion mechanisms of biological systems like swimming, crawling or slithering. The use of mathematical models provides a powerful tool to understand these mechanisms and to design artificial replicas for industrial or medical purposes. The latest findings in the field are presented and discussed, and the dialogue between the mathematical and engineering communities is encouraged.

The Winter School of the Department of Decision-Making Theory is a popular meeting of students and researchers from the department and collaborating researchers from several Czech institutions as well as guests from abroad. It takes place at the UTIA's chalet. The event is organized by M. Studený  and J.Vomlel. The scientific program covers the research interests of the department MTR UTIA and of our invited guests.

Prague, October 29 - November 1, 2019

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together researchers with a common interest in the field of mathematical continuum mechanics. Besides invited presentations, there will be a poster session and opportunities for informal discussions.

Following a longstanding tradition, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, in cooperation with Institutes of Information Theory and Automation and of Mathematics, Czech Academy of Sciences, and Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University organized the Spring School on Variational Analysis VII. The spring school was held in Paseky nad Jizerou, in a chalet in the Krkonoše Mountains from May 19 to May 25, 2019.
