Short bio

Currently in my first year as a postdoctoral researcher in Mathematics at the University of Vienna in the research group of Ulisse Stefanelli, I am temporarily based at the Czech Academy of Sciences (UTIA), working with Professor Martin Kružík.

My PhD research focused on “Variational models and methods in material science and evolution equations”. In particular, my work aims to assess the applicability of a global-in-time variational principle—the Weighted Energy-Dissipation (WED) approach. This project concentrated on the variational formulation of problems arising from physics and material science. Specifically, I have been working on semilinear gradient flows with state-dependent dissipation, optimal control of gradient flows, dynamics of hyperelastic materials, and the Allen-Cahn/semilinear wave equation with dynamic boundary conditions.
