(eng): The inference and analysis of properties of solutions of differential equations are at the core of qualitative theory of dynamical systems. Understanding the conditions under which these properties are conserved after interconnections and coordinate transformations is afundamental paradigmin the qualitative systems theory. Particularly, the concepts of passivity and dissipativity, which were embedded in the systems theory decadesago, are increasingly relevant in nowadays technological developments in the energy sector. Another property of special interest is the capacity of dynamical systems to synchronize or to desynchronize through weak interactions.
